About us
The Bega Cheese Heritage Centre is a great place to explore the world of Bega Cheese.
The Heritage Centre offers visitors the chance to try our world famous cheese and to learn about the history of dairying and Bega Cheese in the Bega Valley.
The Centre was built in 1993 and is a faithful reproduction of the original ‘creamery’ building constructed in 1899. At the Centre you can sample and purchase a selection of Bega Cheese. We also sell a wide range of Australian cheese. We have a great range of souvenirs, farm-themed giftware, local jams & honey.
If you are hungry, let our coffee shop entice you with great milkshakes, ice creams and a large range of homemade cakes. If it is lunch you are after enjoy a ploughman’s lunch or steak sandwich from our extensive menu.
The Bega Visitor Information Centre is located at the Bega Cheese Heritage Centre and the volunteers there will assist you with any questions you may have about Bega or the Sapphire Coast.
The Spotted Cow Gallery is upstairs at the Centre. Talented local artisans display and sell their products, which includes paintings, woodwork, leadlighting & decorative arts.
Our museum features the History of Dairying in the Bega Valley. Collections from local dairy farms shows our visitors how dairying became a thriving industry in the Bega Valley.
